GO GREEN: A Helpful Guide for Small Businesses

In the spirit of St. Patricks Day, I wanted to share tips on how your business can GO GREEN!

I hear you, making your business environmentally friendly takes time and effort. Sure, recycling is a great first step, but there are many ways you can reduce your businesses carbon footprint. By doing so you can improve company morale and feel good about promoting a positive mission of environmental sustainability. Set the tone for other local biz and #GoGreen!

Here are my 6 favorite tips on how to do so… be sure to download the Green Guide to read more on how to realistically implement these strategies.

1. Lighting: Utilizing natural light and turning lights off when you leave the room can save 15% annually.

2. Heating: And cooling, for us Floridians! This is the second biggest drain on energy in the workplace.

3. Unplug: Leaving your laptop plugged in is a waste of time and money. As soon as you’re fully charged.. unplug!

4. Energy Monitoring: So, how much energy do you actually use? Review your data and strategize on ways to cut back.

5. Go Digital: Eliminate paper waste if it can be sent via email. Urge customers and clients to use ebills and docusign.

6. Recycled Paper: Paper production has a colossal environmental impact. Comparatively, recycled paper requires 28-70% less to process than standard paper.
